Do you want more from a vacation rather than just laying on the beach all day, then why don’t you try a wildlife safari? There are many different types of safari available from gorilla safaris to chimpanzee safaris. Gorilla trekking in Uganda is supposed to be a once in a lifetime experience and Uganda safaris are among the best.
Wildlife safaris are a great way to see all sorts of different animals in their natural environment rather than confined to a zoo. Safaris also help to conserve these beautiful creatures like lions, tigers, gorillas and chimpanzees from poachers as they allow people to make money from seeing these creatures alive rather than dead.
Tracking mountain gorillas through the Bwindi forest in Uganda on foot is surely one of the world’s most thrilling wildlife experiences. In Uganda, the Bwindi impenetrable forest is the sanctuary for almost half of the world's population of Mountain Gorilla, the rarest race of Gorilla. The Bwindi forest was established as a safe, protected habitat for several families of mountain gorilla and it is now the location of one of the worlds most important scientific conservation programs.
Trekking through these dense, vine-clad mountain rainforests is an amazing adventure but if you want to go be sure to book your gorilla trekking permit early. Permits to view gorillas in Uganda are in high demand, with only 12 people per day being allowed to view at Bwindi Forest. A percentage of the permits at Bwindi are sold 12 months in advance and the balance are sold three months prior to trekking.
